ATI Drivers Question on Fresh Install

The computer I am building should be up and running by midweek. Just a couple of more parts that I need for it. The video card I bought for it is the X800 Pro which I plan on flashing to the XT if it's capable of it. Here is a link to the card I bought.

The OS I have for it is XP Pro and will be running an AMD64 3400+.

Now for the drivers questions. It's going to be a fresh install. The vid card comes with a CD, but I am guessing those drivers are going to be older. I have read that people have been having problems with the 4.10 drivers and that many are sticking with the beta ones and some are using the Omega drivers. I want to do things in the right order that makes sense. What drivers do you recommend that I use? If my card is flashable to the XT, should I do that before loading any drivers? At what point during my installation should I install the video drivers?

Technically I am self taught, but been interested in computers since my very first Tandy HX about 15 years ago. So I am not ignorant, but not the most technically savy person out there. I have been reading and researching the computer I am building for the last 3 to 4 weeks and have information overload. This is my first build from scratch computer, but I have replaced every part except a motherboard/processor.

Any advice would be helpful.

My advice is before you do anything to your card download and install the latest drivers. Forget about the Cd that comes with the card, probably will come with 4.6's or something. I personally feel that the Omega 2.5.90 drivers are the best out there. Make sure you card is a Vivo or else you can mess up your card. A Vivo will come with Samsung 1.6ram, A rage theatre chip on the back and a extra yellow connector on the front. Find more info online! Good Luck!
