ATI driver problem with dual display

MSI Radeon HD 4350 512MB on XP SP3. Latest ATI driver.

DVI to LCD monitor as primary display at 1280x1024; HDMI to HDTV as 2nd display with extended desktop 1080p. After the TV is turned on and off a few times, I can only have a single display -- if TV is on, it's the TV; otherwise the monitor.

Tried to use Control Panel -> Display -> Settings and got the following message below.

Could any one help to decipher the message and found a solution?

try to force detection of the HDTV, other then that, im out of idea's...

Check the latest release notes for the cat 9.8's, I think they listed something like this as a known bug.

2 things related are posted. But neither says the driver will be corrupted and dual display will be lost

In extended/cloned mode, the secondary display status may appear incorrect in the
"Available Display Devices" page under Catalyst Control Center Basic view

Catalyst Control Center: Hotplugging back a HDMI display might not restore its
original DTV (HDMI) Pixel Format setting, if a DVI display was hotplugged and
unplugged during the interval to the same port
