ATI Crossfire

Im about to order ATI's X1900XTX to play the latest games on 1680x1050 Resolution. I would like to upgrade and use crossfire in the future. I know I have to buy an X1900 crossfire edition, but can the ATI X1900XTX (non Crossfire or Crossfire ready) be used?

I'm a little confused by your question so I'm gonna run through some basics:

To use crossfire you need:
1 Crossfire capable Mobo (Xpress 3200 mobo or Intel 975x)
1 x1900 Crossfire Edition Card
1 x1900xt OR x1900xtx

'S all.

If you can wait a month, there's gonna be a new ATI card out -- the x1950xtx. Either get that or take advantage of the fact that x1900 cards will go down in price.

Dont for get a good PSU. and if you are going crossfire anyway get the 1900xt becouse the crossfire master cards are clocked the same, the 1900xtx will be under clocked to xt speeds anyway so save your money.

That's not true. SLI does that. I get better performance by overclocking my cards.

Yeah, x1900 crossfire edition + x1900xtx will give better performance than
x1900 crossfire edition + x1900xt
