Eventually I plan on getting a Crossfire mobo and two cards. The reason I am holding off is I feel there is still some significant changes yet to be made to the way Crossfire works and I would like to see a more stable, concrete product in place before I make the upgrade. My questions are these:
Are the changes to come going to be made to the actual hardware? i.e. Are they going to do away with the connector wires and adopt the internal connectors similar to SLI? Will they eventually do away with the whole Master / Slave card business and allow us to just buy two identical, or even similar cards?
Or is the hardware model in place now the way it will most likely be and most major improvements from here on in will be made to the drivers?
The reason I ask is if the latter is the case, then one wouldn't be quite so foolish to make the switch now and let ATI iron out the kinks with new driver releases. If fundamental hardware concepts are due to change, then one would be wise to hold off.
