ATI Control Center Does Not Run

I don't really need to use this because I know exactly what settings I want, but I still want to take a look at it and see what things I can do in it. The problem is that the thing doesn't run. I don't have it installed now anymore but I remember that each time I tried to run it, it gave me some sort of error with an OK button. It's probably not a faulty install or anything because I did it with the 4.8 and now with the 4.9.
 
Open up task manager and kill all CLIE.exe processes. Then go to start/programs/ati control center/restart runtime. It should run now. Its an annoying bug that should not have shown up on the second release....

Oh yeah it said something about that in the error message. I'll try that the next time i decide to install the CP (next catalyst release, hopefully thats fixed)
 
This is from the release notes:

Caution: The CATALYST™ CONTROL CENTER requires that Microsoft's .NET Framework Version 1.1 be installed. Without .NET Version 1.1 installed the CATALYST™ CONTROL CENTER will not launch properly, and the user will see an error message as a result

I think I can almost guarantee you it's the .NET framework that's causing the problem. Go install that and it should work fine. As long as you have at least 20+mb of ram free to run the control panel. That's the only thing I don't like about it.
 
I'm sorry but I'm not stupid. I have all the requirements. I'm 98% sure it's whatever this CLIE.exe is that is causing the problem. I'm just too lazy and find it not worth the time to reinstall all my drivers to get the control panel and test it out.

Bro, CLIE.exe is the Catalyst Control Center.

I am sure you've installed the .net 1.1 Framework (Here )

BUT, you did the right thing by uninstalling it.

Don't even bother, it's not worth the effort, really. not until they fix the problems with it anyways.
