everytime i boot up i get a ATI control panel error in windows XP
i have to cancel out of it every time?

ive tried re-installing the video card drivers with new ones and some old ones...

Anyone else had this problem?

Making me upset

I am using the radeon 9800 pro

Why not disable it on boot-up. Go to start-->run-->msconfig, disable the ATI control panel under "services" (not at home, srry) I think.

Don't disable the drivers though.;)

EDIT: you can still access it under the advanced tab of your desktop properties

Instead of doing that. go into your desktop properties.. go settings, go advanced.. go Options, uncheck the box for 'Enable ATI Taskbar Icon Application'

All fixed.. :D

I forgot to ask.. you running a second vid card by chance?

I am running a geforce 440 in a PCI slot

I am running 3 monitors 2 off of the ATI card and 1 off of the Geforce card

Kool (thanks for the reply guys I wanted the error to go away but wanted to use the ATI control panel still)

Ok.. do THIS then.

Shut down... pull your electrical cord from the PS. Yank the PCI card (this is only temporary!!). Re-plug in the cord... start up.. and let everything finish loading. Shut BACK DOWN again. Yank cord again... re-install card in same spot (or new... just DON'T install into PCI slot 1!!!!!). Stick plug back in.. restart..

Error SHOULD be gone now..

Mind you... ATI and Nvidia are FAMOUS for not working well together. Their drivers attempt to do similar things in different ways, and it can cause severe system instability... So if its working for you.. then your in good shape.

Disabling the 'Task Bar Aplication' doesnt disable the control panel. Its still there, just go into your Desktop's 'Advanced Properties' if you don't believe me :)
