Hi, i just installed the 4.8 cats on my dads new office pc i built him (9200) and when you boot up there is a windows explorer pop up of

"C:\Program Files\ATI"

everything works fine, and no complaints about the card.. but how do i get rid of this annoting pop up thingy!!! If its irritating me, it will seriously fuck off my dad, lol

go into the ATI control Panel and under the Options tab, uncheck those boxes. Since it's an office PC, most of them shouldn't be needed.

If that doesn't work, open the registry and go to HKLM>Software>Microsoft>Windows>CurrentVersion>Run and remove the ATI entries.

If that doesn't work, hopefully someone else can enlighten the situation.
 
your 1st idea seemed to do the trick..

i dont get why they have to do that in the first place, same bloody thing happend with my 9800pro, those drivers were a right pain in the ass when compared to my old gf3 :(

no problem. I'm glad that solved the problem :)

I agree though...when I had an Nvidia card the drivers did seem a lot less "intrusive" at that time (about 8 months ago anyway).
