ATi Catalyst install: do I need to install the control panel too?

I noticed Guru3d has the driver and the control panel listed for download seperately for the 4.3 cats. Do I even need to bother installing the control panel? If I don't will I still be able to change the AA/AF settings by rightclicking the desktop-->proerties-->advanced?

You need the control panel to change the settings.
 
Ok, what if I use an app like aTuner or RivaTuner to set the advanced options? I'll be running one of these tools anyway for overclocking and I'd like to keep as much free resident memory as possible by not installing the control panel.
