Ati Catalyst 8.10 is out

I installed these on my x300-based laptop (via dhmodtool) and they work great. Had 8.8 on there before but lost OpenGL with them (which was really odd, maybe some freak accident during installation; I don't know).

Has anybody had any luck playing Blu-rays with 8.10 on Vista 64? Seems to me most people get a blank video layer...

i got a problem also. i have asus 4550 video card. when i installed 8.10 video card it is blank screen. but when i use Asus CD , it works fine.

if i set the fan manually will the fan still kick up to 100% at 105 degrees? i'm a bit worried the card is going to burn up when the dust starts building up. too bad these refernce cards have such ****ty coolers. i guess if i install an aftermarket one i'll loose the warranty too.

Well then its a good thing 3dmark06 isn't a game or a measure of performance.

How do you figure it is not a measure of performance? If I make a little tweak like adjusting ram timings it will show up in 3DMark and it probably won't in your game so it is a measurement of overall performance but at a much finer granularity than most games can show.

Because the card manufacturers and driver-writers tweak the drivers to heavily favor these synthetic benchmarks. SO your 'tweak' that got you better performance in 3dmark may have ZERO effect in the game. Not just a negligible effect, but NONE. It may even make the game unstable or introduce artifacting in the game not seen in the bench.

Because certain cards get better scores in 3dmark06 and aren't as fast in real games as their competitors. 2900XT anyone? Yes, 3dmark can indicate huge problems like drivers etc, but if you are getting a few more points with an overclock, its not going to make a real world difference. I'll let Dan D eat you up over it.

looks like i'm gonna stick with 8.9 ..these new drivers are just crashing in middle of every game.....Using vista here...

Anyone else facing problem ?

8.9 did that to me so I went back to 8.7. I updated 8.7 with 8.10 and all is much better now for me. Weird how some drivers rape one person and work great for another. I still think the problem with ati's drivers is their install/uninstall routines not properly working and corrupting the system.

I guess these new drivers really messed up...i even rolled back to 8.9 but still driver is crashing after every few mins of game play....

Can anyone help me out guys ? what should i do now ?
