ATI, can't install drivers or CCC

I've been happily using 9.12 drivers&ccc but I saw 10.2 were out and decided to update... Bad decision.



I went to control panel and removed everything with ati catalyst install manager.
I restarted PC and tried to install new drivers(downloaded drivers+ccc pack from ati's website) but it doesn't show or install drivers or ccc, I can choose Ati catalyst install manager, microsoft visual c++, lotr online trial, product registration and HDMI audio drivers. Where are drivers and CCC?
I checked extracted folder at C:\Ati and they are there, just not being shown or installed.


I installed this thing and no CCC and at device manager it shows driver is installed, but not this one, one that windows will automatically install. (I'm using Windows7 64bit)


After that I tried downloading and installing drivers and ccc seprately but they won't be shown or installed either. I tried installing from safe mode but it tells me detection driver can't be loaded. I used driver sweeper, but nothing changes.
I also uninstalled driver from device manager and tried installing again but same old driver is installed.


Of course I also tried installing back 9.12 but same thing happens! I have no clue what caused this and what to do.


Please help, running out of ideas :/


Oh and I have 4870x2 graphic card and I'm trying to install "10-2_vista64_win7_64_dd_ccc_wdm_enu"
 
Quick update: I tried system restore and it didn't work. Well it brought me back but same thing happened there. CCC and drivers were installed but like they weren't. Ccc couldn't be ran and couldn't update drivers either.
Really considering reinstalling windows but I'd have to move laaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarge ammount of data to do it...
Oh well, maybe someone has solution for me? :(
 
Have you tried the ATI forums?Your major problem is getting the detection driver to work.

I have, 1 reply telling me to reinstall vc++ and net framework, and I did but nothing happened.
And yeah, detection thing seems to be an issue since just before it offers me stuff in that picture it loads/searches for stuff, so for some reason it's not offering drivers/ccc, like it's not detecting my graphic card. And in device manager they're both named and all.

Guru3d has a driver cleaner it will remove all ati files and try to reinstall

^ I did try that, wrote it in first post and it didn't do a thing.
Also,
I tried cmd method again, both in safe mode and in normal.

In safe mode it says detection driver failed to load and then no components found, while in normal it says no ati components found oO

Seems like it's definitely detection driver's problem.

What to do? Really don't want to reinstall :/
 
download VC 2005 and 2008 (SP1 for both i think) uninstall both VC 2005 and 2008 and reboot the PC and then install both of the above, it could be an dotnet issue not sure how you fix that thought (always hated CCC been dotnet program) but i could have an go at it

other option is install the driver your self goto device manager and right click on the video card and click on update and then click Browse my computer and click on the ATI folder (C:\ATI) and click next that should get the driver to install if that fails to update use the Let me pick form an list and locate it from there and Force the driver to load

you should be able to install CCC from the ATI install folder as well

if need more help i can do remote support using msn msg or teamviewer (Time zone 0hrs UK)
 
^ tried installing/uninstalling vc(both of them) several times.

I also tried manual install which didn't work but I just tried it again and it seems to kinda worked, now it says:

Digital provider: Ati Technologies Inc.
Date: 5/02/2010
Driver version: 8.710.3.0
Digital signer: Ati technologies, inc

Is driver up to date now?

I'd still like to know why it won't recognize it or ccc normal way.

Oh and ccc, theres bunch of folders and install files, I don't know which one to run to install it.
 
looks like the currant driver installed not sure if the 5 day is the correct day thought (find out soon)

i install windows 7 onto an system i am selling with an 5850 in it when i get back in about an hr, only takes about 10 mins to install

it should be the one that says setup.exe or install.exe mite be CCCinstall.exe as well

safety tip set windows to show file extensions, Organize > folder options > View > untick Hide extensions for known file types (if you wish as well you can set Show Hidden Files,folders as well, but leave hide protected system files ticked as you do not need to know about them nor want to mess with them)
 
^ installed 10.3 drivers btw.
There's no setup file that will install all ccc stuff it seems, theres bunch of them for different stuff hmm.

Edit: Ok Im gonna format and reinstall windows tonight... wish me luck
