I have an nVidia Nforce 4 chipset on my mother board, and they it's invidia. Will I come into any trouble with an ATI card on iit or is that just bullshit?

I am running just fine with a NF4. But it will not do crossfire if your interested in that.

Just some BS. All ATI cards run fine on nvidia hardware.

Its is steaming BS from some people who love witch hunts.

I have two MSI Nforce 3 boards and ran my X800XT-PE on both with ZERO trouble.

And damn do I run games, even older titles just to see if anything would arise.Nothing, zlitch all fine. :)

It won't make any difference at all if you are running an nF4 chipset. Crossfire most likely won't work though.

AMD CPU's tend to perform better in games. The NF4 is the best chipset for AMD. Many people here are split between ATI & NVIDIA. However, those that do use ATI generally run them on a Nforce chipset. Just look at the system specs in most peoples signatures.

Heck, there are even people who used the NVIDIA DVD player on their ATI cards.

In other words....YES. It will run just fine. NVIDIA may be in competition with ATI to sell video cards, but they want to sell chipsets to.

The only performance differences I've ever known with nforce chipset and hardware is that nforce 3 (250gb) gave the fx series a little boost, basically what I'm getting at is I have a x850xt and it works fine with ym nforce 4 chipset motherboard...:D

Only thing that does not work ATM is Crossfire and that will remain to be seen as well in the future. I have a slight suspicion that we will see a chipset from one or both houses that supports the others SLI/Xfire.

Called Intel 975 chipset, reports that nvidia and ati give it their full support too.

After all why would they not. It makes no sense for one to try to push the other one out anways. And you are right on the 975 chipset, but I was referring more along the lines of say nF5 supporting Xfire and vice versa. Either way we win in the end :D
