ATI AIW8500 DVI 2 component?

Dumping an old 8500 AIW into my jukebox/server using my tv as a monitor. Anyone used one of these adapters. I just knw that the Svid on these cards is crap so I was curious if the component adapter was any better? Doesnt need to be spectacular would settle for ok to descent.
