ati 9800 pro installation question..

Do you have to use power connector from power supply to hard drive to ati card? What would happen if i just connected vid card to the p/s and dont connect it to the hard drive connector? wouldnt this be better due to i have already installed dual wd raptors with sata power connectors instead of the 4 pin connectors that attach to harddrive. thanks
 
it doesn't matter from which molex connector you use, i always try to use a line with less load on it, a dedicated molex connector, not splitting off from one, for maximum stability
 
great my enermax 475 p ve has a 12v molex connector not used so looks like ill use that one:) thatll work willnt it?
