ATI 9800 Pro FRAME RATE...

Hey there.... didnt know if I should post this in games or here in video cards, but I was wondering how stable my frame rates should be in Enemey Territory? I use the command /seta com_maxFPS 76 so that the frames are capped at 76 frames, but it seems when I get into battle, or I sit by myself with little things going on (or start moving), my frames rates drop down to roughly 30-40 and stay like that for a while. Then at times it seems to go up back to 76 and then they eventually drop again. I mean its normal for frames to drop when there is a lot of action going on and such, but I mean frames dropping really like this in ET? Sounds a bit unusual to me... maybe not? Maybe I should see what UT2k3 and other games are like... just havent had the time to install anything.

Also, when I use an ET minimizer, my gamma goes really dark when I minimize and then maximize back into the game. Same problem when I use Alt+Enter to minimize (I really like this little tool since at times I need to check something or get some info from the net). I tried some settings, and modifying the config for ET, but no luck what so ever. I am using the latest Catalyst drivers from ATI. I have tried installing a couple other versions of this driver, but I still run into the same problem. Any ideas or suggestions? Thanks for the help.

By the way, could heat cause this problem? I have one case fan running, but I seems to be kinda warm inside the case.

When I had my GF4 Ti-4800 SE, I really didnt see my frames dropping that much and that often. Only when in heavy action.

turn off vsync or turn on triple buffering. With the 9800pro you have to use a special tool. Comes with the omega drivers.

and where would i find the button for these useful tools to up my frame rate...?

i heart people talking about turning down AA, etc etc...where do i find this stuff? 0_o

bump for good info
