I live in Canada,Quebec and the temperature is very high at the moment with a very high humidity %. A friend of mine gave me his 9700 pro (retail ATi brand) because he bought a 6600GT. It was working 100% fine at his home for the past ~2year ,no problem at all (he has air conditionning and I don't). The temp in my room is surely around 40degree celsius with my computer, im rosting like a chicken on the BBQ.
I have 1 intake / 1 exhaust fan in my case and when I play Battlefield 2 it freeze after like 15-25sec of play with fucked textures just before it freezes. SO I tried putting 2x big ass fans at full RPM blowing inside my PC case and it works but the problem is I cannot turn them on during the night because it makes a SHITLOAD of noise and it would wake up everyone during my late playtime muaha. Without the fans when I put my finger on the memory or GPU heatsink it is so hot that it burns my finger after 1.5sec
My question: Is it "normal" for the card to "overheat" if we take into consideration the very high humidity % and temperature in my room?
By the way the card is running at DEFAULT speed.
