I have obtained a working ati 9550 from my boss, who threw it away beacuse of some corrosion. Its an agp 128mb with the stock heatsink
The first time i pluged it in, it worked well, no artificats or hangups within two hours of natural slection. Then it started to hang and give me pixels that change very slowly
right now, i have red pixels scatterd everywhere, text is disorted and such. Is there any way to remove all the corrosion without harming anything, prehaps a vinegar bath? ive already played with res and refresh, so i know its the corrosion or perhaps the cooling

i assume by the corrosion you mean on the gold plated AGP conector. I seem to remember the best option for that was to use a gold polish and just buff it out. I wouldn't use a vinegar solution. That could be pretty harsh on a card. Let alone letting it have to dry out for multiple days etc.
 
No no no no...

Put it in the vinegar solution, and you'll have a ruined card. Thing is, sounds like you've already got one...
