ATI 6000 series?

well, AMD "confirmed" that their second generation DX11 cards will be out in the second half of this year

Which is perfectly fine with me, since there are no longer games worth buying new video cards for every six months.

Remember when Ati and Nvidia released new cards every six months? Now it's like every two years :(

No, when was that?

Also, if the 6xxx series comes out in Q4 2010, then it will have been a year, not two years, which would also put it right on schedule compared to previous generations.

Exactly.

But...I guess that is what Eyefinity is for though...Or even just going bigger on the monitor.

They probably will make an announcement of an announcement in Q4 then release in Q1 next year. :D

Stupid TSMC. We'd be having even faster and better products sooner from both camps if it wasn't for them screwing up.

Hmm, my 4890 is getting a bit long in the tooth, but October isn't so far off... was thinking about a 5870 but forget that now. Hopefully I can get my hands on whatever is coming before the release of Fallout: New Vegas on October 19th, that would be pretty sweet!

Who ever does mixed resolution three monitor gaming will be the company I will go with.
I'm kinda hoping it's Nvidia for some reason.

Kyle has said that ATI (and maybe Nvidia, I can't recall) told him that PLP is just not worth the time and money they'd have to spend developing it, and that neither company has it in the pipeline.

Hmm. 6000 series is just another reason to skip this generation. Sure ATI's got some good cards out, but for midrange, I think I'd shell out the $200 for a gtx460 right now, even if it's more than a 5770, considering the performance is a lot better too.

edit: depends on the wait really. still no release date. It could be December or October. Still a long wait in pc gamer terms and that's most likely for only the 6700s. Buy now.

I am going to buy the new hd 6870 and a new gtx 580 next spring....I cant wait! I was going to build a new intel 6 core, uber expensive, raid SSD, phase cooled pc, but now I guess I will just hold off until next year. I want to futureproof my pc. Any more news on their release date? How much faster will it be? How much does it cost? Which one is faster? How hot is it? How loud is it? How many monitors will it support? How many will I need to run my 13 monitors? Which one overclocks better? Which is the best bang for buck? Should I upgrade yet? What? You dont know all the answers? ....LOL....excuse me while I go throw up on something...
