ATI 4870 and WoW Problem?

So..my performance in WoW leads me to believe something is up with my machine. I get the same performance with settings down all the way...as I do with them completely up. Resolution and all. It fluctuates between 45-60, hovering in the mid-range mostly. The GPU activity seems to be around 24% during game play and makes it seem like it's just not utilizing it. I am running dual monitors. 22' as my main, and 15' as my secondary. I'm going to reinstall the drivers...but am not sure what the problem is...any suggestions or insight?

Do you have vertical synchronization on? That would be capping your fps at 60 and probably decreasing performance a little bit. Turn that off and report back with your average fps. Also, where are you seeing these numbers? Shattrath has been known to be coded terribly with ridiculous lag around the battlemasters and such.
 
I had 25% or so GPU usage (4870 8.8) in Crysis on my new system and didn't have good frame rates. I decided to do Vista updates and then it ran smooth as butter with normal GPU usage.

Where are you standing in the game? Just turn off Vsync and anything past that is CPU limited.
 
Ends up Questhelper was hindering it a bit. I didn't think I had it enabled on that char. But Vsync was off. It is definitely running smoother, but it was better before..so I am going to try some updates to see if anything helps. Either way, I am happy with the performance now.
