ATI 4.9 Beta Drivers

Hi folks, I don't post here much but I do read a lot of the posts here. I might have missed one similar to this one but if not, has anyone noticed performance increase with ATi's recent beta drivers? To be honest, I couldn't really tell whether it was system instability or whatever but my atiglxx.dll (sp?) crashed my D3 (or the other way around) before I can get an entire timedemo completed (yes yes, I know that the timedemo doesn't mean too much but I wanted to run just to see). Anyhow, so I thought about reinstalling the drivers but went straight ahead with the 4.9s to try those out. Game still crashed so I reinstalled D3 and the game was running pretty wonderfully. I would crash at high qual. settings everytime while running demo1 but haven't had a glitch since with the 4.9 beta (or the reinstallation). What's your take?

System specs:
AXP 1800+ @ 2.4 GHz
2x256 OCZ PC3200EL
NF7-S v2
Radeon 9500 @ 9700 softmodded
40 GB Maxtor
160 GB backup

I noticed a big difference, I went from running the game in high quality @ 1024 x 768 to ultra quality @1280 x 1024 with no noticeable drops in FPS. There is a large thread with other people's experiences, try a search.

I noticed a little difference. Have not done any fps testing..

the differences are variable, some get a 3-4 fps boost, some get no boost, some get bad glitches in the game.
