My current view right now at this point. is, Are the ATI linux drivers 3.11.1 really worth the installation.. i ask this question because i've been hearing frequent complains about the difficulty to install the new drivers. can anyone share their views?

My system (AXP, 9800Pro) still performs the best with the 3.2.8 drivers. Some people are getting 20-30 fps more in UT2004 but there seems to be some stability problems with these drivers.

My advice would be to install them and see how they run on your system. The difficulty of installation is no different than the previous drivers.

thanks for responding.. the reason i spoke of problems with the installation was due to the distribution i use.. gentoo. and gentoos portage update recently reverted the portage drivers down to 3.9.0-r1.. and well my 9600pro crawls warcraft 3.. which from what i've heard from Cedegas forum.. should run like the windows version.. anyways i'll gvie the drivers a shot.. manually installation isn't complicated.. i recently had to reinstall some programs due to problems with the portage counterpart.. mplayer being the biggest application i've had to reinstall
