I just RMA's my ATI X800XT PE 256 and the vendor wants to replace it with a ATI 1600 pro 512mb?

I read some reviews and I don't think this is an equal trade. Can someone point me to more review (hopefully some with graphs comparing x800xt pe to the 1600) so that I can send it to the vendor to complain.

Is this an equal trade?

your x800xt is a much faster card than the x1600pro or even a x1600xt. the only review i could find quickly had the x800xl beating the x1600xt. your x800xt card is better than the x800xl and the x1600pro is worse than the x1600xt used in the review so in other words an x800xt is much much faster than an x1600pro.

http://www.xbitlabs.com/articles/video/display/games-2005.html just look at the performance mainstream catagory for each game. remember the x1600xt is much better than the x1600pro and of course your x800xt is better than the x800xl. so i would guess the gap to be about twice as much as between those cards in the review

There isn't really one. Sorry, but the only AGP card comparable IS the X800. There's also the X850 which is better, though. However, every ATI-based AGP card out there that's still made is going to have worse performance than your card.
 
You could be on a good thing here. As you are entitled to a replacement of equal or greater value, then why not ask the vendor for a 7800GS? Assuming they stock nV cards, you get a little upgrade. I'm sure that price-wise it's the closest to what you paid for your XTPE :D
