anyone hitting 2.2 successfully on an asus k8v? i have a problem keeping it stable at the clock. please help! thanks!

Well, first of all a reference point would be great to start out with here... What cpu are you running? We can assume it's a 3000+ or a 3200+ since they are the only Athlon 64's running at 2GHz and that the 3400+ is already at 2.2GHz. If you have a 3400+ and can't keep it stable at 2.2 then you need to return it. I've run my 3000+ at 2.2GHz with stable results on my soyo ck8 nforce3 motherboard, I know some who have gotten better results than that. To be fair, it's turns out not to be stable according to the Prime95 test, but for anything else i have done it has run flawlessly. Results may vary.

Might want to give us a little information about your system before asking a question like that.

oh oops. forgot. im running the 3200+ with a Zalman CNPS7000A-AlCu Ultra Quiet CPU Cooler.

1.) Change your Ratio to 4:3 in the BIOS. Set default HTT to 200mhz. Go into WinXP then change HTT to 220+ mhz using ClockGen.

OR

2.) Loosen your RAM timings, or get PC3500 RAM capable of 2-2-2-12 at 220 mhz mem clock.

hmm...im running the xms512 3200 ll's @ 2-3-2-6. should the ram be looser?

You're going to need to make your RAM super loose (I'm talking around 4-4-4-12) to get PC3200 up to 220 mhz on 1:1 ratio. Based on the Amd 64 OC Guide (in AMD section) that talks about RAM, synchronous memory to HTT speed is not as important as raw speed. So at this point I would say change your ratio to 5:6 or something close to 1:1 to make your RAM OC to a higher speed.

I'll disagree with you on that. I have ultra cheap Geil PC3200 Value ram and I've been running it at 220 with CL3-3-3-6 timings without any issues.
