Looking for a new cooler for my 3500+ cpu temps are about 55-60 with the stock cooler so id like to drop that considerably

anyone with some suggestions ? i've heard the thermalright xp-90c is a nice one/.. copper w/ 4 heatpipes

anyone have other suggestions ? i'd like to drop these temps as much as i can for the time being (no watercooling... havent popped that cherry yet o_O )

I have my new A64 3700+ with the aluminum XP-90 and a panflo 92mm and damn, this sucker rarely hits 40c even during loads, im very impressed, much better then my Zalman 7000cu.

How do you guys check temps? Do you have a thermometer or something?

well around these parts the xp-90 aluminum goes for about 49.99, for an additional 10 bucks you can get the xp-90c for 59.99

for 10 bucks i might as well go with copper, hell it even looks better then the aluminum :)

none of my temps ever show in everest and speed fan makes my system lock up for some reason. Is there another program that i can use to check temps or is bios the only way other than those two. Motherboard monitor doesnt support my mobo.

Is that 55-60 under load or idle? If Idle yeah a little high under load that is good. :D

that temp is normally about an hour into cs:s or folding@home so its under load

but still... the colder the better no ? :)

hrm, after checking my idle temp right now using nvMonitor - cpu is at 38, caseis at 30, and gpu is at 60... been surfin the forums for well iover an hr so - temps are nice

everest shows it at 1-2 degrees higher then the nvmonitor

if i upgrade to a better cooler like the xp-90... how many degrees should I actually expect to drop ?

yup. as for the last question.. it kinda depends, but ambient + 10c for full load would be a good estimate
