I installed the AMD Cool and Quiet software on my Athlon 64 3200, ASUS A8N-E Windows XP Home (32-bit) system. It didn't seem to work (plus I read some articles on the internet saying that when it did work, it hurt gaming performance) so I decided to uninstall it.
I went under Add/Remove programs, and I found "AMD Athlon 64 Drivers", and I uninstalled that.
I'm assuming that was the Cool and Quiet utility. But the name of it makes it seem like it's something you need to run Windows propertly. What exactly do the "AMD Athlon 64 Drivers" do in Windows? If I don' t want Cool and Quiet, is there any reason to have it installed?
