Athlon 3200 XP doesn't post

I purchased a 3200 XP Barton on ebay of unknown functionality (as-is), and after spending an hour straightening pins, I was able to get it into the socket and power it up, but it doesn't post. Everything powers up, but the computer keeps rebooting.

Everything works when I put my old 2500 xp in.

Could this a matter of a pin not matching up, or is it just dead? The reason I ask is because other processors in the lot I purchased wouldn't even power up.

Yes, my motherboard supports 400FSB. I have a Gigabyte vt600. I do have 3 mismatched RAM sticks. This thread shows some problems with the motherboard.

Will I need to reset jumpers before installing?
