Well i found a cpu out of an older machine that was given to me. I'm pretty up on things but maybe i missed something.

AMD made a 2900 Athlon XP Barton Core??

Why cant i find any solid info on fsb and multipliers anywhere? How come it's not listed in this forums sticky CPU thread? Anybody knwo what the deal is??

On a side note, it does seem to o/c very well ... even if it is just on air.

That's a first for me. I've never seen nor heard of a 2900+ to be honest! :)

It's probably a custom design from AMD for some large OEM manufacturer. If you do a search here, there's a few more threads on the subject.

For a short time, I had a 333fsb Athlon XP 3200+. 2.333ghz. Sold it for more than I paid for it.

Yeah, there are some wierd chips out.. Search around the forums, and you will find some such as the 2900+ Barton, 3100+ Barton, 3300+ Barton among others such as 3300+ Athlon 64, 3600+ Athlon 64, 2900+ Athlon 64..

There was also a 3400+ Barton, but it never got released..

nice. you guys rock.

Guess i should be happy i got a limited edition AMD CPU

Also took a trip to the local microcenter by me. Turns out they have a few 2900 barton's (400fsb) for around $70. Maybe i'll pick up another :D
