not bad took about a week to get from japan to Massachusetts, right now i can only use them with my shitty laptop audio but once i get back on my main rig with Xfi fatality i will be able to use them in all its glory!

right now all i can say about them is damn they are huge biggest headphones i have ever worn but they are very light weight and extremely comfortable they just sit on your head its a perfect fit, sound qaulity with music sounds good but im going to have to do some gaming and some bf2 to really tell what these things can do with cmss3d and all the cool positional audio settings :)

Expect a full review with a plethora of pictures, dimensions and everything soon! :D

Take your time. GIve them at least a full week of heavy use before doing a review. That way you get to know its sonic qualities better.

Still, I can't wait to see your review ^_^
Hope you enjoy them.

Give yourself a month to appreciate your cans, at the very least. :)

I've had my DT880s for about 4 months, and it's taken me this long to realize more fully its weaknesses and its strengths (although I noticed its strengths a while back), it took more critical listening to give me a good idea of what I thought could be improved upon.

Yep - hook em up to a good stereo on FM at decent volume for 16 hours or so, then something like easy FM with bass on medium and volume again medium for another 5-8 hours.

Either that or just use them normally. Both ways do the same thing ^_^

Welcome to the club. They are good all arounders and do well for gaming and DVD watching.

If you don't mind me asking, how much did they cost to have them shipped directly from Japan rather than through audiocubes? And do you have a link for the Japan direct?

Congrats, looking forward to pictures and review. I'm on track to buying a pair of these by the end of the year, perhaps a college graduation present :)

well if ya want a deal you can get the ath-a700 here in the US for almost half hte price of the a900 and the difference between an A500 and A900 is small, so the A700 should close that gap even more :)

I heard the A700s are different between the A500 and A900. By different, I mean worst.

Hmmmm maybe because it's a bit bassier, but that can always be tamed.

dont worry review is coming may be another week or so but when i have it up its going to be awsome :D

I wouldn't want to get the a500/a700s because I'll just want to upgrade them in a month anyway. Might as well get the a900s and stay away from headfi for about a year letting the wallet come out of its coma.

If that's your logic, then you might as well go directly for the W5000 and the L3000! :)

In the 3 months since I first got my A900s (January 13th) I have added two amps, Beyer DT880s, Senn HD595s and HD600s, AKG K701s, Grado SR225s, and will add the Sony SA5Ks by June.

I would advise you to stay away from HeadFi. :D

QFT. I haven't bought anything, yet. But to go along with my Shure E4's, here is the agenda for the next few months, in order:

-Beyerdynamic DT770
-Koss KSC-75
-Selfbuilt CMOY amp and a PINT amp
-Grade SR80
-Selfbuilt Dynahi or a tube amp

I miss the day I arrived my a900s in the mail... I think they were glued to my head until i passed out...

definitely very nice headphones at a very affordable price (from an audiophiles perspective)

would u mind sharing ur gaming expirence with them for me?

I will..

For gaming they simply rock more than anything else.(this, VS a few high end sennheisers, the AT's win hands down)

In games that do stereo 3d, you can hear where things are above, behind, below, etc just fine.
extreme amounts of bass with balanced mids and trebel once burned-in.
Best headphones for music i've used as well.
