Someone I know says that a 7200 rpm ata133 drive smokes a 15k rpm ultra3 SCSI drive. I don't think this is true, but I could be wrong. So what's the deal?

as a proud owner of a segate x15, 18gb & 36gb and a segate 7200.7 (200) in one system i can say not a CHANCE in hell bub.

seek times it is untouchable as for bulk transfers since my scsi card kinda sucks top end its only about 15mb /sec faster than the 7200.7 ide the REAL beauty of this thing it absolutely will not transfer any slower than 40mb, it will top around 110 / sec where as you'll find ide and sata all over the map in transfers, ive been told to really make this thing go ill need a u320 and a board that can support it full (not just an old pci card)

What a wanker. Has he ever used both of them or is he basing his decision on a few numbers he read somewhere?
