My question is can you run these at the same time? or do you have to pick one?

I am looking to get a SFF system that has ATA133 and SATA. I want to run a 74gb Raptor as a main drive, then a 200GB Seagate IDE ATA as the secondary drive. Is it possible to do this?
 
Certainly. However, you need to make sure your system has the right connections. Some of the motherboards I've seen with SATA don't have enough extra ATA connections after plugging in CD-ROM's and DVD drives for extra harddrives.
 
i should be fine then, since i will have one ATA drive, and IDE Drive, then an IDE DVD-RW drive
 
you can, and maybe it's me, but I just did this in an asus P4C800-E delux, and it took me all night to figure out what drive was a boot drive, and to get the UIDE and the SATA to jive correctly without drives dissappearing on me...

but then again, this was my first SATA sytem, and it's been a year since I built any systems!
