ok so i just bought this sound card from fries first thing i noticed when i got it out of the box was that there were thumb prints on the back plate of the card.... and i supposedly brought it brand new... second is that the audio chip listed here is the AV66 chip not the AV200. Is this some BS or what!? i thought these cards came with the high end AV200 if so then why is ASUS putting this AV66 chip on these cards?

i couldv sworn that all the reviews i viewed showed the AV 200 chip but without Dolby support so whats up with this chip? is this supposed to be the dumbed down version or what?
just did some research. It also says in ASUS's web site that the Xonar DS does carry the AV 200 chip

And I believe you're right. it *should* say AV200, because it's the AV200 minus a few things. If you look on Newegg and zoom in, you can see it on there as well (Not always accurate, but that one is AFAIK)

It does have DTS though.
