there was a time, a long time ago, when asus' website didn't suck so so hard, although it was not great.

for the past few years however, the insanity of asus' website leaves me reeling almost every time i visit the f'ing thing (which is quite often because they are my primary motherboard manufacturer).

has anyone from asus ever tried to use that damn website to find anything? goddamn pop-up windows, small sub-windows that get f'd up when you attempt to view the text that doesn't fit in the window, plastic-like "cool-dude" graphics (that are not even that well done) that are supposed to convince me that asus' products are the shit - wtf, why try to convince me of that, i'm on your f'ing site for drivers, i already own your products! - that result in me spending more of my precious life energy clickity-clickity-click fighting with the website to get to where *I* want to go.

and don't even mention the lack of bios changelogs (well sometimes you can find text files in obscure ftp directories that say shit like "Support new CPUs."). nice changelog.

Your rant is well warranted!

I HATE ASUS' website. It's always slow

Their site isn't that bad nor complicated, IMO. Updated the BIOS in a relatives A7V333 the other day, go to main page, select support, select downloads, type in model and I'm there. I needed a BIOS, so I clicked the BIOS tab, pretty straightforward to me it seemed, and BIOS history, it's a link appropriately named "BIOS History" and it resides right next to the model when you select the BIOS tab from the downloads.

No their site isn't the best in the world, but being a tech I visit numerous support sites a day, and Asus's is not challenging to navigate compared to most. The only problem I've ever had with their site in the last many years is occasionally the USA download site will be down, not a problem since I can grab it from 2 or 3 other sites.

From a usability perspective, I think their website is very poor.

They must've forgotten to feed the squirrel...he's lying dead from hunger in his exercise wheel.
That means there's no power going to the little night light which helps the asian guy in-a-box with the abacus, cup, and string see what he's doing...

They should have a new squirrel installed by Friday.

I have been there to look for info on the MP3-In function on my mobo - there is nothing from what I could see. The forum had a couple people ask the same questions but they got no replies. It feels like a ghost town whnever I have been over there. All they need is Tumbleweed and skeletons of dead cows. Ad this to things like an original support CD that doesn't work for many (last sept and October anyway) and I have one word to say - Intel.
