Just got the monitor today and I noticed something. Does the top show darker then the bottom? For an example using Steam client if I put it to the top of the screen its dark, when I drag it to bottom its brighter. Is this something normal on a TN panel?

Yes, my samsung 19" has the same thing. This was my first LCD and when I noticed this it took me a while to accept it, the shop I bought it from said I needed to deal with samsung, and samsung only sends back refurbs.

It's called color shifting and pretty much you can't work in any paint program, because the same color will be darker at top and brighter at bottom, creating different color.

However, I noticed some TN who does not have this problem like a Philips 22".

Looking forward to my newly ordered 2209WA IPS LCD, hopefully everything will be perfect.
