ASUS VH238H 23"

I have this monitor and it looks great. No dead pixels, nicely even back-lighting. I haven't done any gaming on it yet but my son has the VH236H with is the non-LED version and it doesn't exhibit any ghosting.

It does have the side viewing issues that are typical of a TN panel but I sit right in front of it so no problems. We are both using the HDMI interface with AMD Radeon graphics cards. He is running Win7, I'm using Ubuntu 10.10.

You have probably already made a purchase but I'm very comfortable recommending them both. Great monitor for the price.

I guess I got a dud.

look at my backlight..... I ordered another one to see if I'll have better luck. It displays all darker colors unevenly.

I got this monitor but the 21.1 monitor the only complaint is that on standard gaming mode and scenery the colors look too washed out and bright cause of the backlight so I have in in Nightview mode and use my Nvidia card to turn down the colors a bit.

asus quality control really sucks, or they are sourcing shitty lcd panels for this model.

i got a second one of this monitor, hoping it would be better than the first.
the lighting is even more blotchy, and there are 2 dead pixels.

I just can't believe someone said this has even lighting.
