This case will cost me around $140 (w/o PSU) but I'm wondering if the automotive paint is easy to come off? I'll probably LAN like 5-10 times this whole summer and then your usual college drives from and to home. I love the design, but I don't want the paint to be chipped easily (don't know how good the quality is).

Another choice is buying your average beige case and using good automotive paint to make it shiny :).
 
If you don't want paint that chips easily, go with Aircraft grade paint. I think it actually has some sort of epoxy mixed in. I've herd it's hell to get off once you paint something with it.

I imagine a case painted with automotive paint will scratch with the same effort it takes to scratch your average car.

I'm wondering when some company will start shipping cases with a powder coat. I think I'd go for that.
 
you could always just get it and use like 5 cans of clearcoat... couldnt you?

i dont think he wants to paint it, he wants to know how if the paint is easily scratched or not.
id assume its just as easily scratched as any other painted case.
 
As a point of reference - it only takes about $75 or so to get a case powder
 
that case sux bizzallz for real if you ask me.....
i had it here for a repair and everytime i opend the door it slammed up and banged to top of case....so there some chippin gonna happen there other than that its a bitch to move...awkward design
i would mod a cheap case and put handles on it...all the usual junk

I'm not one to diss anyone's case choices, especially when they plan to mod it...but do take another look at that case cause the cooling for it is about as bad as you can get short of not having any fans at all, and every review I've seen has said the door broke off within 10 minutes. Just be carefull with your decision.
