Does anyone else here like the Asus Vento case? I have one, the green one, and I think it's pretty sweet. The only thing I don't like, but doesn't bother me much, is the reset switch. You need a pin or a needle just to press it. The good this is that I usually have something arounnd when and if I need to push it. Oh and the hd led is almost invisible but no biggy either cause you don't really need it.
 
I do believe that case is shunned by all in existance, you best run for your life :)
 
Its not bad if you dont want to do your own modding. When people come over it will get noticed, but in my opinion it looks a bit cheesy. I like the more classic lines of Antec, Lian-Li, etc.
 
It's got to be one of the ugliest cases on the market. I don't know what ASUS was thinking.
 
Be Nice to the kid, to each there own. I personally don't like, I like LiLi's and Silverstone's, and that new centurion. Antec's are alright.
 
With some further modding, it'll look good enough. Nothing bought from a store is good enough for case modders. There's always something else it needs.
 
its fugly, i like my refrigerator look of the p180. people are always like "wow i didnt even know that was ur comp"
 
I think it would be a good basis to do a simple jet or mech themed mod with some creative painting.. but I know the door over the drives would drive me nuts. It's definitely uh.. unique.
 
i'm sportin' a p160w myself, but i kinda like the Vento. it's got a fun design, and reminds me of something out of TRON or the Black Hole, etc... remember HARDAC from Batman TAS? the Vento looks just like that, which is rad (that would make a killer mod).

don't sweat the naysayers: the same people who hate this case have a million other opinions you'll disagree with. what kills me is how quick they are to say harsh things about it. like ripping on a case design you don't like (or other people don't like) is gonna earn you cred or something...
 
The thing that bugs me about that case is that I hate the feel of plastic most of the time. So the entirely plastic outside is lame imo. Second, it has those two huge air inlets on the sides that lead into an extremely restrictive grill on the inside. If you are going to make something ugly it should at least be functional.

Only if your modding tools include a pick axe, hatchet, hacksaw, and lots of big heavy blunt objects to smash it up with.


Modding that thing would be like performing nasal surgury on a transformer ;)
 
wow, they really need to change this board from 'Case Modding' to 'Assholes R Us' :rolleyes:

it is a case that screams premod but from what i see some stuff can be done to it, kill all the factory fan grills, change the LEDs taht light up the intake(or add some if hte review i read isnt right) cut a window around the CPU duct and the from latch thing, cut the ASUS logo out and do a mesh vent, custem paint, the list is endless, what you DONT want to do is listen to all the assholes that want to flame you because you have different tastes then them

It looks kinda funky but I think the novelty factor would wear off quite quickly.
 
I think its the only case that can't look good even with modding. IMHO it looks like a big lump of melted plastic.
 
I agree with the Assholes R Us change. Honestly, I think it is kind of cool. It is a tad bit wide for my tastes but I think it has a slightly unique look to it. Try to do something with a window and ventilation. The one thing that it does not have is a lot of space.
 
It reminds me of the "roger roger" robot dropships from the new starwars movies. I'd keep expecting little robots to climb out the nostril holes.

Ditto: Hey man what ever floats your boat....I used to work with a gay guy that wanted one...the case that is...well on second thought.....

I like my version better... sounds more like the proper mockery of droids everywhere that they were.

It just looks like if i tried to pick it up, I would break something.
