I have been looking at this laptop and the asus 1201N

I like the UL20 much better in that the battery life is much longer. but i would like games to be playable at minimal settings. WOW is the main game that i would like either to be able to run. Do you guys think the UL20 is capable of this at lowest settings.

I just ordered this laptop. Got it for $570 from ZipZoomFly.

I was really on the fence between the UL20A and the UL30A. After seeing them both in person. I was really against getting the UL20A. It's small. Like the size of a sheet of paper. Which seems cool in theory. But it seems too small in use. But in the end I decided to get it. Because the ultimate purpose of a laptop is portability. And I could honestly see myself leaving the UL30A behind because it's too big. And the bringing the UL20A because it'll easily fit in my camera bag. I guess I'll just deal with the size. It being cheaper didn't bother at all though.

After going through all sorts of reviews on the specs of the UL20A. The CPU, cache size, bus speed, GPU. I figured it would be comparable to my old PowerBook G4. Just smaller. And that ran world of warcraft and lightroom just fine. With details turned down to near 2D levels. But it ran just fine.

If it is going to be your only computer. I strongly advise against it. But as a secondary/portable computer, it seems to be perfect.

My UL20A comes in on the 5th. I'll let you know how it turns out.

Just got my UL20a yesterday. Left it overnight to download WoW at 6.5GB. I reduced a lot of the settings except distance and had it set at native resolution and got about 20-32 FPS. Which is playable. Framerates dropped to 13-26 FPS on battery mode. Which is still decent though a bit skippy. Don't expect to do any raids, but it's fine for killing time. The laptop body stayed relatively cool. But it did turn the fan on. And the exhaust was warm. Luckily the fan isn't very loud. Just about a whisper.

that was my goal as you can see the rig in my sig can more than handle wow. for the laptop it would just be nice to be able to kill time or check auctions etc.

A quick question for any UL20A owners here. I have one, upgraded to 4GB RAM, Win7 64 bit. Nice computer, just the right size. 8.9 Aspire One too small, 15.4 laptop, too big. This one is nice and pretty speedy. But......

My wired ethernet only connects at 100, not 1000. Windows Network and Sharing Center shows 100 mbps. All my other computers connect to all my network hardware, router, switches, all gigabit, at 1.0 Gbps. Lights on switches show 100 mbps for the UL20A. Specs for the computer show 10/100/1000, but mine, apparently, is only 100. I've updated the BIOS to 207, reinstalled the network driver.

Is there some setting in Windows that'll change this? I can't find anything in BIOS setup that changes the network adapter.

Not too big a deal as I usually just let it connect wirelessly to one of my 4 AP's, but you know how it is when something doesn't do as it seems it should!!!
