Asus STX & Windows 8 - Driver support

For those of you that have access to the RTM, how is the STX support? Do the drivers work as intended?

I ended up not installing Win8, sorry. The Intel RST drivers had too many issues with Raid 0 that I decided to delay the install until they mature. I'm hoping that's not the case with the STX drivers as well.

hey i don't have the STX but i saw something on another message board with people saying there are problems with windows 8 ... most notably they say the asus audio center won't open ...SO you can't change outputs / settings


again thought this is 2nd hand reporting..

Thanks, but those posts are from the preview, not the RTM.

I've played with my Essence STX with both the unified Xonar driver widely available and also the latest ASUS direct driver. The card works, but the Analog output switching does not(I.E switching from rca to headphone out's). You can set and stick with 1 output, but re installing the drivers is required to switch.

So, this is what you experienced with the RTM? That's the same issue that the first release had. Hopefully Asus gets a new driver rolling quickly.

I've had the same issue with my DG. The control panel installs, but will not run, so I have no ability to turn the headphone amp on. It was one of the main reasons I went back to 7.
