Hella Guys:

I would like to know if anyone has a combination of Asus Striker & Q6600.
Any bad stories. I read some on P5k3's. I'm a newbbie, don't know much of OC.
But would like to get feeback for my future build.

Hope someone share a light !!!!!!!

Thank YOu

youve probably read about P5K and the deluxe P5K3 is directly for DDR3 .

xtremesystems.org have many ppl using that combo.

But as of now quads have shown their performance hype on the p35 based boards.

Apparently the p35 boards are showing better overall performance when coming to the Quad. Just from what I've been reading anyways.

P35? dont know exactly what you mean?

P35 is the name for the latest Intel chipset like the Striker had the Nvidia 680i onboard...

Quad core overclocking has come along way on the Striker, latest biosses are improving and getting faster all the time (reaching 420FSB)... but best and safest bet there will be the latest EVGA rev board or the DFI 680I LT...as the Striker is very very picky on the ram...

If you don't intend to go SLI , buy a P35 chipset based motherboard like the P5K DLX or the Gigabyte P35 DS3... why... they overclock so much easier , less heat output and are way better suited for quads...

the striker is alright ass well . but depends on what your objectives are with your rig.

overclocking has been done using the striker. and the striker is also SLI so its all good

I dont need SLI since I really dont see the need

for it ATCT.. buttt thats just me

I will mostly use my new build for AutoCad 2008 (hugs memory like a m...), MS apps, and quickbooks. Nothing fancy.

What's SLI? :)

Go for a P35 plz mate, if you have no clue what SLI does then don't bother to get it... as you won't need it for the things you want to do .. you need huge amounts of ram and the Intel chipsets are less picky about it then the 680i versions of Asus...

One way to go Asus P5K (Dlx) or P5K premium board... do NOT get the P5K3 as it uses DDR3 and that till now is just a money pit...
