ASUS Striker Extreme

Hi,

I'm building my first gameing rig and am having a bit of trouble trying to decide what ram to use. I have bought the case ( Thermaltake armor LCS ) MoBo ( Asus Striker ) and the power supply (Thermaltake Tough power 850W with PFC cable Management PSU ) and a Dell 2407

I would like to use the Intel e6600 2.4Ghz dual core OR e6700 2.67Ghz dual core ( what do you guys recomend?? )

In the hard drive department I'm looking at useing a 10,000rpm western digital 74Gb for the OS and programs and 2 400GB 7200rpm Seagates one for music & one for video.

Sound card will be Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi™ Fatal1ty FPS

But as for RAM I dont know what to do Corsair has been recomended to me by friends and at the moment these are a few of my choices:

Corsair TWIN2X2048-6400C3DF 2GB (2x XMS2 1GB) Twin2X PC-6400 DDR2 RAM Dominator Airflow Fan

DDR2 Twin2X 2048MB 240-pin DDR2 XMS2-6400C4PRO(2X1024MB) Corsair

Video card has not yet been decided

I'm spending decent money and I want to do this right so any help, ideas would be much appriciated

do you plan to overclock your cpu or run @stock?

Patriot memory! Their pc2-6400 (PDC22G6400LLK), or what I'm using, their pc2-8500 (PDC22G8500ELK). OC's pretty well and can run fairly tight timings. Lastly, they've a slight edge over your friends recommendation in terms of price, as well.

Their pc2-8000 is said to be a very good OCer, but that's reflected in the price (higher than the pc2-8500), so it depends on what you'll be using your system.

do you plan to overclock your cpu or run @stock?

I just want to run it stock but down the track once I'm not such a noob with building rigs and tweaking bios I might have a go at OCing. Also when looking at model numbers on RAM sticks what does the "PC6400" or "PC3200" relate to?
