My computer came with the cool and quiet funtion installed and all it does is display the cpu info. Today I clicked on it and it gave me an error message. The only way I got out was to restart from the button on the tower.
 
I believe it is an implied question, as in how to get it to not lock up.

First thing I would check is to make sure that Cool N' Quiet is enabled in the BIOS.
