ASUS ROG Strix X670E-E random shutdown, even in BIOS. It shut down last night after I went to bed, and randomly all day. Today I noticed the time was off, updated to the newest BIOS, still doing it. Having issues setting the date in the BIOS and having it stick, sometime it will across boots, but mostly it won't. It shut off during memtest but didn't generate any errors prior. 7950X 32GB 6000 Hynix, 980 Pro NVME. It's shutting down in the BIOS adjusting settings so I think this is heading towards a MoBo replacement.

try changing the cmos battery. clear the bios while its out.
could also try reseating the chip. or maybe try a contact frame if you dont have one.

Yeah did all that, the system has been stable in this config for years then started this today. Battery changed, cleared cmos multiple times, it's in a contact frame and with the pressure of the waterblock I have doubts that's going to help. Temps look good. When it shuts down it doesn't always want to turn back on, or will cycle on/off then finally boot and be stable for a while. Seasonic GX-850.

The latest AGESA updates have added additional RAM settings that sometimes don't play nice. Something about Bank Refresh Modes. Set defaults for the RAM and see if it still happens, if not then you'll have to twiddle with the RAM settings. Asus is notorious for running things too aggressively even with their defaults.

It won't boot at all now, I'm pretty sure it's the mobo I'll pull everything out tomorrow and test further. A new one is on order.

Chip and socket look pristine. With a jumper in place the power supply 12 volt and 5 volt are good I don't know about the 3.3 volt I'm not sure if its location on the pinout I might look into that. The system's always been behind a good UPS not that other things can't happen.
