I recently purchased a new system and am having a couple of issues. I'm wondering if others have been experiencing these problems and what you guys recommend. I know Intel has a defect with the P/H 67 chipset boards but I see my issues unrelated to that.

1) If I leave my system running over night and return to it the next morning/afternoon it is frozen on the screensaver.

2) I player World Of Wacraft and recently I've been having issue with my system locking up while I'm playing.

Please help me if you can and I apologize in advance if there is a similar thread relating to the issues I'm experiencing. I just want to get this resolved.

Some threads about this in the Intel sub-forum. Have you tried running the RAM at DDR3-1333 with Auto settings?

your temps ok all the way around ?

as well if your overclocking whats the longest time you let a burn-in app run to test and make shore the computer is stable

Zecora, you're not alone with the P8P67 EVO (or specifically P67 general) random lockup issues. I have one and it locks up regardless if I boot Ubuntu or Windows 7 64-bit OS'es. Have not tried 32-bit, but I am pretty sure that is not the issue. I suspect there is more to Intel pulling the plug on the P67 chipset than just SATA2 issues. Seems this lockup issue is happening to a good number of people regardless of the board mfg they selected. Since the P67 chipset has been suspended, I imagine BIOS support has been suspended as well. Makes sense until Intel gets this sorted out.

I've left my system on overnight and started working on it just web browsing in the AM and FREEZE!!! Tried to clear the CMOS, manually adjusted timings, etc... Temps are all good according to AIDA64. Think we are just in wait mode until the whole thing gets sorted out. I've got other rigs I can use in the meantime, but I was looking forward to encoding video on the Sandy Bridge platform... It's just not reliable right now and not sure if it will ever be. Suspect this chipset will be overlooked now and we'll move on to the next Intel or AMD offering.

I'm currently not OCing my system and just have X.M.P enabled in my Bios to allow for my memory to run at correct speeds. My Temps are fine and I don't think it is an overheating issue.

Thank you guys for the response and I'll be returning my Mobo once the new Chipset, Z68 comes out.

I've been having a lot of stability issues with my P8P67 Deluxe and Corsair memory. My computer always rebooted overnight if left on overnight. Disabling XMP and upgrading to latest bios seems to have helped a lot. No reboot for 3 days.

UPDATE:

I haven't had any LockUps since my last post but I haven't let my system running overnight. The only change I've made is kept my External RaidTower box off.

I've also received an email from Newegg and Asus about Intel's "Cougar Point Chipset" Issue. I think I'm just going to return my board once the new Z68 chipset comes out. I just want my computer to run!

Thx,
~Zec
