Hey everyone, just got a new core i7 an this board, but it wont post, no beeps..........nothing. I made sure my mem was on the supported vendor list and it is, tried just using one dimm for a beep or something but nothing seems to be working, anyone have any ideas......im pullin my hair out here

Disconnect everything, keep the CPU in and connect the 24-pin main pwr and the 4-pin cpu power. See what you get.

still nothing, seems like the bios isnt booting, Ive already tried clearing the cmos just to make sure

without the video card in I figured I would get a no vga error but I dont even get that, nothing seems to be happening

i have the same board but havent built it yet. I did read the manual though...did you put the RAM in the orange slots not the black? Also it wont post with just one DIMM in.. I dont mean to be patronizing but are you getting power to the board at all? Re seat both power connectors.. Seems pretty rare to have a DOA board, maybe try the ASUS forums?

yeah I tried everything it said in the manual, it just wasnt posting, now I went an just bought the p6t deluxe and im having the same problem, anyone have any ideas? any way to test the ram an cpu, also on a side note, the board comes with a 8 pin power for the mobo but with 4 of the capped, should I use the 8 pin connector I have or use a 4 pin connector? would it get to much power with all 8 pins?

well I tried using both but Im still not getting any error beeps or anything, Im not sure if its the cpu or not an I dont have any other hardware to test on

how likely is it that its the ram? I bought oczxp13334gk thats not on the QVL but the oczp13334gk is, is it possible that just in the upgraded ram that the board doesnt recognize it? Even if it didnt it should still give me some sort of error code....also I read on the asus forums that theres supposed to be a blue light next to the dimm slots, I dont have one :(
