Saw another thread here with similiar issues using WC but it didnt really answer my question... plus I didn't want to hijack his thread.

Anyways, after a long gaming session yesterday I noticed Asus probe reporting my "MB" temp at 60c. Now I have been out of the loop for a little bit with system building but that seems a little high to me for a northbridge temp.
System stayed completely stable at this temp and it never went higher than 61c. My only though is the two huge GTX 285's are blocking so much airflow that the NB isn't getting proper cooling?
I am using a CoolerMaster HAF with all three 200mm fans working and the 160mm in the back. I have a push pull setup on the noctua, and the ram fan is working on the dominators. I don't see how I could accomplish anymore airflow in the case.

Any ideas what to do in order to lower the temp on the Northbridge?

Is 60c really too high for the X58?

Any input is greatly appreciated!

I dunno if the thread you're talking about was mine, but I ended up having two exhaust fans for the rad and my "system temp" likes to idle around 42 and goes no higher than 46C now. I think even with all those 200mm fans, direction of the fans and case pressure might help. However you're probably right about those two GTX285s (are they water cooled?).

I tried adding the optional fan on the mosfet cooler and it didn't really help, just made noise. But I do have a 40mm fan on the main MB block. Once again I dont think it's doing anything, but it makes no noise so I left it on there.

No the GTX 285s are not water cooled, nothing in the system is. I can't even install the mosfet fan the mobo came with cause the noctua blocks it.

After researching a bit on ASUS forums I found they placed the temp sensor for "MB" right below the top most pci-e 16x slot. My guess is the heat from the back of the lower vid card and the fan from the top is blowing hot air right on the sensor. After hours of gaming i can see why that sensor would read so high even if the heatsinks are not burning hot to the touch. They are warm but I can keep my finger on it for an indefinite period of time... anyways that theory just makes too much sense. I just want to be sure im not causing damage to the mobo though.
