ASUS P5Q Problem- PCI-e doesnt work

I recently purchased a P5Q. I fist got it a couple of weeks ago, and it would not work. The problem is that it will not work with my EVGA 8800GT 512MB OC video card. I tried it with both my Core 2 duo E6600 and a Pentium D 3.4GHz, I tried it with three completely different sets of memory. It works with an old PCI video card, but obviously I need it to work with a real video card.
I called ASUS (hadn't called a tech support line in 15 years) and they told me to send it back because they had no other suggestions (they had zero suggestions that I hadn't tried). I finally got my new board and it has the same exact problem.
The video card works fine on my old ASUS motherboard, but it wont even show up in windows as a piece of hardware if I boot up into Windows with both the PCI video card and the 8800gt installed.
Any suggestions?

Cards bad/Mobo's bad. If they sent you a new board. I doubt its the Video Bus. Test the card again, do you have another card to test in the PCX slot? Possibly a differant video adapter or card will work. Just to help narrow it down to the board or the card. I personally have never had a problem with an ASUS board, except on my old A7X Socket A when I burnt out the CPU Heatsink fan power circuit with a LED circuit. So I had to ghetto it with a 4 pin 12v lol. That's user error though. I believe that maybe you're not plugging in a power adapter to board? Maybe? Seems stupid, but we've all done something of the liking.

I have everything plugged in (the 8800gt makes a horrible squeal if it doesnt have power.) I have tried the EATX12V on the modo with both 4 pin and 8 pin. I have also used two different power supplies. It always works fine with the PCI video card, but never with the 8800gt (which I have been using for half a year, and double checked it on my old mobo.) The only thing I need to try is to get another PCI-e video card to try, but I find it unlikely that two seperate P5Q's would have the exact same problem. It has to be something else besides bad hardware.
