So I have been having a few issues with this board, some I can live with and some that just drive me nuts! The big one, and the reason I am starting this thread is that the board just refuses to shut down. I have tried every bios version, 3 different types of ram, 2 different power supplies, 3 different cups, multiple SATA and IDE HDDs/ODDs, and I still cant get it to shut down! I always get the same result, system shuts down but all the fans and psu are still running. This wouldn't be a big deal but I have to reach under my desk and switch off the psu every time I want to shut down. I have contacted ASUS and the only response I got was them saying I should check the power button for a short?! It seems that I am not the only one with this problem and I cant find a fix anywhere. Should I just RMA this sucker and try again?
This is the current setup
E6300 (older non-Pentium version)
2x1gb of DDR2 800 which was on the QVL list
500gb SATA HDD
No add on cards.
Windows XP Home 32bit

You should check the device manager and make sure all drivers are loaded. especially the one that controls the epu engine. Other than that, the only other thing is to try clean install and load only the drivers on the motherboard and see if the problem is still there. If problem persists, then its prolly hardware related.
