Hey guys!

I'm trying to find out if the Asus P5K WS motherboard supports the new Intel Xeon E5410-processors, but cannot find any information on Asus's website..

Does anyone know if it will work?

In theory all P35-based motherboards "should" support the 45nm Xeon E-series or am I completely out of my mind on this one? ;)

From my searches I find the following:

Xeon E5410 = LGA771

Asus P5K WS = LGA775

So I guess the answer you are looking for is a big NO! Next time double check what socket the processor takes and motherboard has to see if it will work or not. If they match up and you cannot find any information then post up asking for guidance. Not trying to be mean just stating the obvious.

Hmm. my local dealer was wrong in their description of the chip, it said S-775 however you are correct as no other dealer mentions 775 only 771 which according to intel.com really is a 771-cpu...

Thanks
