Asus P5B Problem

I have an Asus P5B Deluxe and experienced a strange problem today. I tried to install two more 500gig hard drives today. When I turned the computer on it would not go past post. So I uninstalled both hard drives and hooked everything back up. Once again it would not go past post. The I unplugged my WD USB external drive which was not turned on and restarted the computer. Now it boots up just fine. Just to make sure that was the problem I plugged in the external HD again and restarted. Same problem.

My computer ran fine with the external HD plugged in for months. Why is it a problem now? Any ideas how to resolve this problem?

play around with the bios, the new hdds must have changed something there. you can try to assign all the drives manually, or you can even reset to factory defaults.

When you install new drives into that board, it generally loses track of the "best boot list" from what I can tell...

Go into the BIOS, and look for "Boot Device Priority" make sure your HD of choice is selected as the first option.
