Building my first rig with Asus P5B and E6600. Want to put 2GB Ram in there. No overclocking. Mainly for games.

Any suggestions as to memory brand and speed? Looking to spend between $175 - $225.

If I'm not overclocking, any sense in getting 800 or 667 as opposed to 533?

Thanks.

if you are NOT overclocking, 533 will suit you just fine. Just get the lowest latency you can find.

Oc that beast! You can get the buffalo ram, and after you set it up, set the FSB to 333 and hang on! That is a safe overclock for the combo you have chose. I am going to Oc my e6400, asus P5l-VM to 300Fsb (2.4ghz) and push my 2X512Mb Corsair Xms 800 to 900!

do what you can to scrimp and save and get the F2-6400PHU2-2GBHZ as I have it in my P5B Deluxe w/ a E6400 - goes to 950 @4-4-4-12 and 1060 @5-5-5-12 helped me get tied for second on the Intel OC sticky (3.6GHz) and will get me to first - lol - I love this memory and you won't have compatibility problems.

chime in Eclipse on this memory please!
