And Newegg is stating a ridiculous static contrast ratio (3000:1) for this monitor, which can only be wrong. This is most probably the same panel as the Dell U2311H.

Was looking at this. Would that mean the AG coating would be the same? I'm fine with that as long as the ASUS QC is better then Dell's.
 
Fifty Million to One????????? Are they measuring this by a single Photon in a Cryo-cooled near absolute zero vacuum chamber? LOL @ 50M:1

This one is IPS, asus needs a better product ID system and they need to get rid of this awful monitor style

Asus needs to get rid of crappy lame freaking 1080p. If those MVA panels that are 24" were 16:10 I would get one tomorrow just for fun.
 
damn that's one ugly monitor for sure.
Asus, remove that lower jaw, put more LCD glass and bump the res to x1200 :)
 
Interested to see actual response time on the MVA. My guess is that it's still shit for gaming.
 
The PA246Q won't win any beauty awards, but this monitor is flat out hideous. There is a very high chance it uses the same e-ips as the dell u2311, which is a 6-bit e-ips panel :(. Then again, the price is definitely right.
 
An IPS panel for $230?! I may be able to excuse the horrid looks. I think these would work just nicely in a landscape eyefinity setup :)
 
Any reviews on this guy (or the IPS236v from LG)? I'm curious if the LED hurts or helps as compared to the CCFL in the u2311h.

A me interessava più che altro sapere se il filtro anti-glare è pesante o meno, per evitare l'effetto sabbia sul bianco.

guarda che l'effetto sabbia negli ultimi pannelli non c'è più ma è rimasto comunque lo spessore dell'AG che rende difficile la lettura, affatica l'occhio senza motivo durante la lettura.
io ho un ips226v ed è molto pulito tutto quanto ma durante la lettura rispetto al mio ex Tn ( sempre delle stessi dimensioni e risoluzione e specifiche ) questo LG si fatica molto di + a leggerlo nonostante la pulizia dell'immagine.
 
To me it interested more than other knowledge if the filter to anti-glare is heavy or less, in order to avoid l' effect sand on the white man
 
If any one has a local NClX they are selling this model, maybe they will have it on display? It will most likely be set up next to a TN, making the comparison very easy.
 
Unfortunately NClX only demos crappy displays. I don't know why! I've visited 2 of their stores hoping I could see benq ew2420, asus ml249/239, smasung f2380,... . But no, what they show is just some crappy TNs.
Yes they did have these asus models in stock at the store, but they weren't on the shelves.

Ah capito.
Ho guardato come dicevi su hardwareupgrade e effettivamente stanno per arrivare impressioni da chi lo ha comprato.

Il monitor comunque lo userò prevalentemente per il gaming.

per giochi e film non richiedono di guardare particolari punti o distinguere qualcosa perciò anche con il l'AG più pesante e brutto del mondo non noteresti niente di niente.
Ste cose si vedono solo quando ci sono dei testi di mezzo quindi dalla lettura delle scritte di windows, dalle navigate in internet o dalla lettura di normali documenti txt specialmente.

Non potrebbero opacizzare piccoli dettagli nei videogames nella stessa maniera in cui opacizzano il testo?

Comunque, pur dovendolo utilizzare prevalentemente per giocare, vorrei una buona resa anche su internet e testi.
